I’m raising money for Candlelighters.
You might be asking, what’s this group? Candlelighters provides FREE emotional, educational and practical support to families of children with cancer receiving treatment at the Children's Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children's Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center as well as the Texas Children's West Campus in The Woodlands.
Last year, after Halloween, a very good & special family friend found out that her son had cancer. Luckily, it was found early and they were able to beat the cancer this spring. And, now, I’m joining their family in the Candlelighters Fun Walk this fall. It’s a way to honor all those families who face childhood cancer.
All the money raised will go towards their annual family camp – a way for families to get a way together. A chance away from the treatment facilities and their everyday hectic lives. Quality time as a family is essential in their struggle to beat cancer. It costs about $200 to send a camper to camp and I’m hoping that we can send 5 kids to camp. So, help me raise $1000 so these kids can have some fun with their families.
Thank you for supporting me and for helping all the children with cancer and their families that Candlelighters serves!
